Great Commission Ministries International (GCMI) is a global, non-profit, non-governmental organization, whose mission is to bring reconciliation, restoration and hope for persons affected by poverty, crime, drug abuse, and broken relationships.

The Ministry was established in Nassau, Bahamas in 1987 to assist poor, needy and homeless men and women. Emergency shelters were opened in densely populated areas and a Feeding Centre, Food Bank, and Clothing Distribution Centre were expanded.

Thousands of clients have been served from these facilities over the years. GCMI is committed to assisting fire and disaster victims and defending the rights of the poor. The Ministry has assisted and counselled numerous ex-prisoners in need of a second chance.

Presently, GCMI operates a successful substance abuse programme and is a member of the National Drug Council. In addition, the ministry continues social outreach in the community, hospitals, prisons, and to youth through 'Save The Children' Club, a programme established to reach boys and girls ages 5-19 years.

Each year GCMI sponsors the prestigious Miss Gospel Bahamas Pageant, for young ladies.

In 1999, Great Commission School of Evangelism and Missions was established allowing persons from various churches to be trained in evangelism and for missionary work.

The Foreign Missions Department has ministered in the Dominican Republic, Cuba, Jamaica, The Turks and Caicos Islands, Bangladesh, Ghana, Kenya, India and Tanzania. Churches have been planted in the Caribbean, Africa, and South-East Asia. Hostels for abandoned girls and homeless boys have been established in Kenya and Bangladesh along with Food Banks for distribution to the poor.
